Han Academy raises the bar for international schools in Hong Kong to a new height, offering a fusion of the best elements of both Chinese and western education.

A new addition to Hong Kong's vibrant international education scene, Han Academy instantly stands out with its unique background and competitive curriculum. It is the first non-profit-making full-time primary and secondary school in Hong Kong, offering top-notch education to a diversity of students.

Differing from other international schools in Hong Kong, Han Academy embraces its Chinese roots, bringing together the best elements from both Chinese and western education traditions, allowing students to learn in a truly international environment.

"To immerse students in a genuinely international learning environment, we have gathered students with a diversity of backgrounds," says Xu Li, School Supervisor. "This, combined with a hybrid teaching philosophy, will allow students to be acquainted with an international atmosphere at an early age."

The new establishment adopts the world-renowned Cambridge Curriculum, and is the only school in Hong Kong that has both the IB Diploma Program and International A level available for students. Classes are also in small groups of around 12 students and taught in both Chinese and English. English classes are further divided into 3 different groups: 'Near native', 'Second language', and 'Beginner', allowing teachers to fully understand their pupils and teach according to their level, optimizing learning.

Higher secondary student also has their very own mentor that seeks to monitor their progress and maximize their potential, coaching them academically as well as helping them map out their future expectations, advising them on how to choose and prepare for university after leaving the Academy, setting them up for success in life.

School life at Han Academy is balanced and cordial. Students follow a carefully structured timetable that provides for sufficient rest and a variety of activities. They may choose to participate in areas where their interests lie in the school's state-of-the-art facilities, including 3 laboratories and 2 art rooms, plus music and dancing studio, library, assembly hall and indoor playground in its 2,200-sq. m. campus. Each classroom is equipped with a 75-inch touch-screen smartboard which is one of the most advanced models in Hong Kong, and there are also iPads for class activities, coding and programming, robot experiments and more.

"Han Academy seeks to inspire creativity and critical thinking of students, grooming them to be responsible global citizens and leaders of the future," says Shirley Su, School Principal. "What we are trying to achieve is to nurture students into lifelong learners. We do that by teaching them how to learn from scratch. This allows them to apply the techniques on their own when there are no teachers around. We aspire to create an adaptive, inspirational and forward-looking learning community that embraces change and innovation."

Currently, the Academy already has over 100 students since its inception a year ago. "We look forward to welcoming talented new faces to join our big family," says Xu. "There is nothing more rewarding than to watch the students grow with the Academy."
