Staff Profile/Chinese Department

Sara Hang

I am so honoured to be a part of Han Academy's family. I am glad to be growing with everyone here. I received my Bachelor's degree of Primary Education at the Education University of Hong Kong and Master's degree of Art in Chinese Language and Literature at City University. My rich experience in the 11-year teaching has covered a year at a local school and ten years at an IB international school.

In addition to attending various training workshops and conferences, I am grateful to have worked with and learned from the great teammates in my teaching career as all of these experiences have enabled me to grow professionally and enhance my teaching skills. Moreover, my experience and knowledge in teaching the IB PYP continues to enrich myself as I apply both Chinese and Western teaching strategies in the inquiry-based teaching in my classroom. With my sound understanding of the IB PYP, I hope to inspire students to approach meaningful learning in their own ways.

My experience in teaching Year 1 to Year 6 students has enabled me to understand that each student has his or her own characteristics. The understanding of children's psychological development and course training helps me know more about child growth and cognitive development throughout different ages and stages. I have also worked in a curriculum development team, have organised school events and activities, and have been on multiple overseas study trips with students.

In my teaching journey, I love seeing my students enjoy their school life. This year I hope to engage students in lots of fun and purposeful inquiries and hope that we can have a good learning journey and growing together.
